Some of the rhetoric is over the top but give it a think . . .
Fluidity is Overflowing
Garfield really is “pulling a Franco”: an actor who realizes he can say he’s “gay” because that term can mean anything (and nothing) right now. It’s actually not this kid’s fault. He’s an actor and goes with whatever flows on the surface of the moment! (That’s part of his job of getting into character.) What’s flowing now on a deeper level? This kind of identity “fluidity” is the logical conclusion to the road sexual minorities (whose neo-queer “leadership” is anything but logical) have been on. We began with identity politics and now have started to claim identity is too confining. Who is not on the “gender fluid” spectrum in this misty mountain LGBTopia? The World is Queer! Nice dream. Well, in reality many people are not and will never be nor do they want to be. The whole Queeertopian LGBTQQII-ETC. project is so presumptuous and unhinged as to be risible, if you take it seriously and follow these Fraudsters who peddle it. They discount biology, abandon cultures of homosex and wish to burn down households for an Ideal, quickly half baked and served up as Truth and enforced as Dogma. Is Gender fluidity valid?, to some degree and this should be explored while respecting its complexity!
The idea of a small group heroically transforming human sexuality is a romantic one, and in Theory it is possible, but in reality it leaves real homos with no home, no way in the world, no idea of how to live well. No wonder so many queer folk are getting married and having kids and otherwise assimilating as fast as they can: they see no real alternatives to leading a good life in what’s on offer. What we have is a blasted out, colonized (see above), uninhabitable and diffuse mess of a Potemkin community whose “hijacker/leaders” have gone off after “all is trans” gender windmills while the lights have gone out and hearths have gone cold. Why? They are out for personal glory, and they don’t want to be real leaders which is about mundane and necessary responsibility, but they want to be heroes, legends and so the whole Pride Parade limps on into the desert.
“Actually, there is no such thing as a homosexual person, any more than there is such a thing as a heterosexual person. The words are adjectives describing sexual acts, not people. The sexual acts are entirely normal; if they were not, no one would perform them.” ― Gore Vidal, Sexually Speaking: Collected Sex Writings
To tell you the truth, all I want is to keep on making love with my best friend.
I still think the Bell Curve is a more accurate way of viewing sexuality.
