We Need To Talk About Marvel’s War on Chest Hair
Feb 8th 2024
Marvel and the MCU have a problem, apparently, with chest hair.
It seems as if Marvel continually makes the conscious choice to wax the chests of its male stars, and I just have a lot of questions because of all the beauty standards to uphold, why is this the one they make an effort to keep up with?
What does the evidence show?
This shows, more than anything, that Marvel is upholding an extremely strange beauty standard for men. I can only speak for myself, but there was never a part of me that hated the idea of chest hair. So, for the Marvel Cinematic Universe to take such a stand for nearly every man they have shirtless? It’s a bit strange.

Each to their own BUT for me it is leaving things natural. Maybe a little grooming to keep things at bay. But the waxed body from head to toe is a bridge too far. I do not want a pubescent person. I want a man and fur is a good thing.

My stock answer when anybody talks about hair on men!! "Men hairy, women smooth. I find a bald man with hairy legs much more attractive than one with a great mop of hair with shaved legs.
Nonsense from Marvel, let it be and let it grow.
I agree with you but saying that hairless men are «pubescent person» is a bit over stating. I'm 74yo, very masculine man but for all my life I never had beard hair on my face and no one on all my body except on my pubis, balls and armpits. As a all time swimmer it was an advantage for me. Even then, i never was labeled as a feminine side man and my actions were more like any straight man. I'm not offended when most men are flag waving that a «real man» has to be hairy. Each man was born with what his genetic gives him on the hair case.
They want to emasculate all of us.
It's old hollywood vibes, don't like it! My ex shave all his silver hair, not for me!
