Something Good About Bieber

Natural bush! He's been manscaped before but in this recent shot from Hawaii looks good and like an actual grown up. At least he's way ahead of arch-nemesis Orlando Bloom who shaves down . . .

Zayn, not a boy, a man.

Zayn, Today You Are a Man
By Allison P. Davis
January 29, 2016

Zayn, not a boy, a man.

In his continued efforts to distance himself from his baby-faced days in One Direction, Zayn has now released a super-sexed-up video for his new song, "Pillowtalk." It is a song where he says things like:

In the bed all day, bed all day, bed all day
Fucking and fighting on
It's our paradise and it's our war zone

Zayn wants to make sure we all know how grown-up he is, which he really drives home by showcasing how much he likes making sweet love to Gigi Hadid, because he’s done sex like a grown-up, because that’s what grown-ups do.

Congratulations, Zayn! You’ve completed the time-honored ritual that all pop stars who want to transition from baby pop star to grown-ass pop star must complete: releasing the most overtly sexual video you can to signal to the world that you are no longer a child, but an adult. This is sort of like a pop-star bar mitzvah, if you will.

But where does Zayn’s “Pillowtalk” fall in the history of artists who have made the same statement? Let’s consider:

Justin Timberlake, “Like I Love You":
Justin Timberlake was already the sexy old soul in 'N Sync, so his transition into adulthood was seamless and effortless. This song announced that he’d grown from "boy-band member who can dance" to "smooth man who can dance" just like we always knew he would. Britney Spears’s “I’m a Slave 4 U” and Rihanna’s “Rude Boy” had similar effects.

JC Chasez “All Day Long I Think About Sex":
In contrast to Justin Timberlake's efforts, there was nothing subtle about JC Chasez's entry into the adult world. He wrote the thirstiest “Guys seriously I’m an adult because I say sex a lot while hot ladies writhe around me” anthem of all time.

Lindsay Lohan, “Rumors":
Lindsay Lohan was once a child actress, beloved for her role in The Parent Trap. But in 2005, it became very important for her to remind everyone that she could — and would — put on a going-out top and get raunchy in Bungalow 8, because she was a grown-ass woman.

Selena Gomez, “Hands to Myself”:

Along with “Good for You,” and “Same Old Love,” this constituted a sort of trifecta of adulthood-assertion for the former Disney star. But with this song, the world really got it: Selena is a grown-up. She has breasts and underbutt and is pro-masturbation and can rent a car and vote.

Justin Bieber, “Boyfriend":
The Biebs sure tried hard to convince everyone he was grown! He drove a fast car; he flashed his bling; he danced with some super-hot chicks like he knew what to do in a bedroom situation. Sadly, his preadolescent scraggle stache ruined any sort of façade of adult male sexuality.

Christina Aguilera,"Dirrty ft. Red Man":
Like your nerdy best friend Jenny who started wearing a bra over the summer and came back rebranded as “Jen the popular girl who gave someone a hand job at camp," this song convinced her fans to accept her adult sexual knowledge without any skepticism.

Miley Cyrus, "Can’t Be Tamed":
Some might think Miley Cyrus grew up when she straddled a giant dildo onstage during her tour. In reality she grew up long ago: in 2010, with this video. This was the moment Hannah Montana gave way to the Miley we all know now.

Jordan Knight, “Give It 2 U”:
This video was weird because Jordan Knight was already an adult when he released the song, so going to a carnival to discuss how sexually knowledgeable he was in an attempt to distance himself from NKOTB felt … creepy. He went from New Kid on the Block to "Kids on the Block Should Maybe Stay Away From That Guy."

Mazel tov, Zayn. You’re in great company.

Justin Bieber Comedy Central Roast March 30

http://www.mtv.com/news/2105841/inside-justin-bieber-comedy-central-roast/

Here’s What Happened Inside Justin Bieber’s Hilariously Brutal Comedy Central Roast

From 'too soon' jaw-droppers to a surprise celeb stage crasher, the roast was four hours of nonstop jabs at the 'King Joffrey of pop.'

One of the first things out of Kevin Hart’s mouth was, “This is possibly the beginning and the end for Justin Bieber.”
And thus the Bieb’s Comedy Central Roast got underway!
The nearly four-hour affair taped Saturday night (March 14) at Sony Studios in Los Angeles, and featured skewering at the hands of merciless roasters who dubbed Justin “the King Joffrey of pop” and “the b-tch of the hour.”
Led by Roast master Hart, the dais included comedians Hannibal Buress, Chris D’Elia (Justin’s fave comic), Pete Davidson, Natasha Leggero, and roast veteran Jeff Ross. Also on the bill were Shaquille O’Neal, Martha Stewart (or the “evil white Oprah,” as Hart nicknamed her), Ludacris, and Snoop Dogg.
Almost nothing was off limits as the firing squad took turns taking shots at Bieber’s brusheswith the law, neighborhood egging, monkey-sitting adventures, and underwear modeling. They also tackled his Canadian roots (Hart: “The man proves we’re protecting the wrong border”), controversial Anne Frank comments (Ross: “If she heard your music she would’ve Uber’d to Auschwitz”), and ex Selena Gomez (Ross: “Selena wanted to be here but she’s dating men now”).
An edited version of the show will air March 30 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. Until then, here’s a peek at what it was like inside and a preview of what you can expect to see.
The temperature was in the mid-90s in L.A., but all the men gamely got suited up for the black-tie affair. Justin showed up rocking a stylish purple ensemble.

“Workaholics” stars Blake Anderson and Anders Holm accompanied him down the red carpet, which was apparently a last-minute idea. Justin’s a huge fan of the show, and his manager, Scooter Braun, saw the actors on the way to the red carpet and asked them to join JB for his grand entrance.
There was a sh-t ton of food. This was the mouth-watering menu for the evening.

Another treat not listed on the menu was a deviled egg at each seat that included the instructions, “for tasting, not tossing.” Each table also had bottles of pinot noir and chardonnay with custom #BieberRoast labels. And just before the lights dimmed at approximately 6:40 p.m., each attendee received a miniature bag of caramel-coated popcorn.
But the pop rock brownies and Twinkies were (obvi) the crowd favorite.

One of the biggest laughs of the night didn’t even involve a punchline — everyone just couldn’t help but crack up seeing Hart and Shaq standing next to each other.

In fact, almost every roaster commented on their sizes. Davidson joked, “It’s an honor to be at a roast hosted by Shaq’s di–,” while Leggero jabbed, “Shaq’s di– is so big, he has to use Dropbox to send a di– pic.”
There were not one, but two, Paul Walker jokes, which drew mixed reactions from the audience.

It was that kind of cringe-y, “should I laugh?” vibe that was made even more awkward because Walker’s “Fast and Furious” costar Ludacris was onstage. Justin said after the show that he “didn’t particularly like the Paul Walker jokes.”
Snoop Dogg had no problem making himself at home onstage. He nonchalantly lit up a joint and sipped on red wine, admitting when he took the podium, “I don’t need a warmup! I’ve been smoking and drinking; I feel real good!”

Speaking of Snoop, his roast is almost definitely the one that will be edited down the most. He dropped the “n word” at least 20 times, which had Hart practically rolling on the floor.
As you probably guessed, there was a surprise roaster who crashed the set about halfway through (and no, it wasn’t Selena or Seth Rogen).

Will Ferrell took the podium as his “Anchorman” onscreen counterpart, Ron Burgundy, with a glass of scotch in hand. He defended Justin, saying, “You people don’t know what the hell you’re talking about. As far as I’m concerned, this guy is doing it right…I always encourage people to stay classy. And what’s more classy than hanging out with Floyd Mayweather?”
Kendall Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian sat together at a front table and gamely smiled at the few topical Bruce Jenner quips. Kendall also laughed along when Ross asked her, “What dating site did you (and Justin) meet on? OK Stupid?”

Some other celeb attendees in the crowd included Carly Rae Jepsen, Dave Chappelle, Ashley Benson, Chris Paul, John Legend, and Chrissy Teigen.
Martha Stewart turned out to be the dark horse spotlight-stealer of the night.

When she took the podium, she said she was there to give Justin some tips for when he “inevitably ends up in prison.” After offering to teach him how to make a shank, Stewart advised Justin to settle down and find a powerful, rich girl who’s “a player in the boardroom and a freak in the bedroom.” And with that, she quipped, “So Justin, my final piece of advice is: Call me.” BOOM.
Ross called Hart “the best roast master” he’s ever seen, and it was easy to see why — he was constantly hyping the crowd up and keeping things light and energetic.

A poppy playlist also helped liven up the room during each break. Some of the songs played included Jessie J’s “Bang Bang,” Fifth Harmony’s “Sledgehammer,” Usher’s “OMG,” and Jason DeRulo’s “Want to Want Me.”
Shaq laughed at EVERYTHING, and was constantly seen wiping his eyes with a napkin from cry-laughing so hard.

In the press room after the show, he self-deprecatingly told reporters, “I’m dumb, I’m ugly, I mumble…I just like laughing. I have a great sense of humor.”
Even if the whole night was just “an extremely transparent attempt to be more likable in the public eye,” as Buress hilariously suggested, Justin got the last laugh.

When it was finally his turn to take the podium, the 21-year-old roastee said, “I’m new to comedy but here’s a joke. What do you get when you give a teenager 200 million dollars? A bunch of has-beens calling him a lesbian for two hours.” ZING! He also revealed backstage that he was planning on celebrating the night by hopping on a flight to Sin City, saying, “I’m going to Vegas…on my jet, b–tch!” Oh, Justin. Never change.

Justin Bieber Getting Comedy Central Roast
Pop star has reportedly been begging network to make him butt of joke for years
By Jon Blistein | January 20, 2015

UPDATE: Comedy Central tweeted on Monday that the Justin Bieber roast – now scheduled for March 30th – will be hosted by actor-comedian Kevin Hart.

Justin Bieber will be roasted in an upcoming special scheduled to air on Comedy Central on March 7th, Us Weekly reports.

The 20-year-old singer has reportedly wanted to be the butt of the joke for years, according to a source at Comedy Central, who told Ryan Seacrest's website: "Justin has been asking us for years to roast him, so we kept telling him to create some more material and we’re thrilled he listened."

As far as targets go, Bieber's an easy one. The singer's antics have made for plenty of comedic fodder over the years, and just this past weekend his ridiculous Calvin Klein ad campaign was parodied throughout Saturday Night Live. Donning a pair of tiny tighty whities, Kate McKinnon offered up an outrageous impersonation of the singer, mugging for the camera one instant then running around, yelling and trying to pants Cecily Strong the next. Luckily, Bieber's got a sense of humor, tweeting afterwards, "@nbcsnl well played. Lol."

The comedians taking part in the Bieber roast will be able to cull material from any number of Bieber-related incidents: From the underage drinking and drag racing to egging his neighbor's house and peeing in a restaurant mop bucket. The monkey he abandoned in Germany will also presumably come up several times. For a primer on the "Baby" singer's history of bad behavior, check out Rolling Stone's cover story from last year on Bieber's out-of-control lifestyle.

Bieber's Comedy Central roast will be the network's first burn-fest since the 2013 roast of James Franco. Other celebrities that have gotten their own special in recent years include Roseanne Barr, Charlie Sheen, Donald Trump, Joan Rivers and Bob Saget.

Three Odd Articles

Not sure what to make of any of these. Chris Christie gay? Please God, no! Justin Bieber just needs a firm hand? Yeah, I'd give him one. On his punky backside. And the most ludicrous, Mike "Huckster" Huckabee thinks liberals are turning America gay. Anybody dumb enough to vote for this chump deserves to "bend over and take it like a prisoner."

ESPN Guest Calls Chris Christie's Friendship With Cowboys Owner 'Homosexual'

Texas humorist and singer Kinky Friedman appeared on ESPN's "Outside The Lines" Wednesday to comment on the friendship between New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

But in a flip remark Friedman said the pair's bonding was much more than friendly. Speaking to host Bob Ley, he called the two "the most important, latent homosexual relationship since Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson."

As seen in the segment above, awkwardness ensued, and Friedman smoothed over his words after Ley asked him if he really meant it.

But Friedman, a former Texas gubernatorial candidate, wasn't finished. According to CNN, he later called Christie, who says he's a longtime Cowboys fan, an "anti-Texas, thin-sock wearing son of a b----." That's when Ley cut him off and apologized for Friedman's remarks.

The governor and Jones have been seen together in the owners' box at Cowboys games, most recently in a group embrace after Dallas won its wild card matchup last weekend over the Detroit Lions.

One media professional questioned whether Friedman should have been on the show at all to comment on what NJ.com has termed a "bromance."

Middlebrow
Justin Bieber And The Pressure Of Masculinity

Justin Bieber’s deposition tapes are probably the brattiest thing caught on camera since Veruca Salt didn't get her way in Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. As he smirks at the camera and grows defiantly unsure of whether he’s ever been to Australia, the natural reaction might be to mutter the words “whatta punk” while Googling deportation laws. But Beiber’s increasingly petulant behavior is indicative of something much bigger than his petit Canadian frame. As he continues to unapologetically spit and pee all over the place, the pop star has become a symbol of the modern man-boy young man, in which bad behavior is enabled -- and dare we say excused -- by the idea that “boys will be boys.”

For the average male teen, the transition into adulthood is one that comes with an intense pressure to prove that their masculinity is unfettered by responsibility. (Think about the sort of behavior we associate with frat culture.) As sociologist Michael Kimmel discusses in “Guyland,” when growing from boy to man, there is a certain emphasis found in the pressure to participate in perceptively “manly” homosocial activities. This is coupled with the shameful stigma placed on expressing emotions (ie talking about feelings is perceived as a "feminine" trait). Considering all the beer-can-crushing antics that align with that developmental pattern, it is often explained away as a typical aspect of growing up.

Justin Bieber, however, is a boy who also just so happens to have an estimated networth of $160 million. He has a lamborghini, a mansion and lack of parental control that is sufficiently summed up by the fact that his father was in attendance when the then-19-year-old dropped $75,000 at a Miami strip club. Imagine any male college student under such circumstances. They would (also) rapidly devolve into a spitting-and-peeing monster. The reality is that our tragic hero, the world-famousl’enfant terrible, is the ultimate extreme of the problematic pressures of developing masculinity.

So, is there a solution? Can we hold out hope for an adult Justin Bieber to rise out of his current context? The answer to that is: "I don’t know Katie Couric, you tell me." Just kidding. Surely he’ll make it out of this phase (or at least fade from our consciousness) eventually. But in order to emerge from this “detrimental” moment, he needs to be able to take responsibility for himself and his behavior, but without proper guidance it’s absurd for us to expect that of him. On a second look at Bieber’s deposition, his petulance in a setting as formal a legal deposition is unnerving and vaguely sad. He behaves like a 7-year-old, hoping to be released from a time out, and unsure how to express his feelings. The defiant asshole act is reflection of his lack of ability to process his emotions, compounded by the pressure to avoid appearing vulnerable.

We’ve had all eyes on Bieber since his bowl-cut beginnings. Now, more than ever, he has no privacy. And, more importantly, no one to steer him in the plausibly non-douchebag direction. Really, everything he’s done has been informed by the ways young men are socialized -- it's just on a particularly visible stage. His behavior has been most crucially informed by the extreme lack of responsibility and need to prove masculinity, which also defines the way that boys become men. For that to truly change, we need to re-evaluate the qualities we celebrate in males and deeply reconsider the constrictions of such harshly enforced gender norms. At the very least, the first step is being aware of the fact that those deposition tapes deserve a greater reaction than shrugging it off with a simple, "Biebs will be Biebs."

Huckabee 2016: Bend Over and Take It Like a Prisoner!

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/01/08/huckabee-2016-bend-over-and-take-it-like-a-prisoner.html

Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee has released a new book that is part fiscal conservative ideology and part Shawshank Redemption.

Great American leaders have long contributed profound thoughts of tremendous consequence to the public discourse.

Roosevelt: "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself."

Kennedy: "Mankind must put an end to war — or war will put an end to mankind."

Reagan: "Trust, but verify."

And now, similarly, former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee: "Bend over and take it like a prisoner!"

"Bend Over and Take it Like a Prisoner!" is the title of the 10th chapter of Huckabee's 12th book, God, Guns, Grits, and Gravy - which, as a whole, is an achievement in the genre of poorly written pandering.

The chapter, ostensibly about the TSA and IRS, is a soaring crescendo of latent homosexuality homoeroticism cloaked in almost libertarian – but not libertine! – conservatism.
